The guys usually responsible for pouring your drinks are taking things a logical step further, turning their expert hands to the production and distribution of the most exciting new addition to the top shelf – HUDSON’S CANE spirit. Who better to tell us what we should be drinking than our favourite barmen and why has this never happened before?!
Introducing a new category altogether, HUDSON’S CANE is a crystal clear spirit distilled from fermented molasses (a by-product of sugar processing). Not to be confused with rum, Cane spirit is as unique to South Africa as tequila is to Mexico and the smoothest offering on the market. HUDSON’S CANE will be hitting Australian shores next week just in time for the summer!

Traditionally the process of producing HUDSON’S CANE has remained the same - sugar cane is ground up in the manufacturing process and the residue left after crystallisation and separation of the major portion of the sugar is called molasses. This is a high viscosity dark brown or black liquid like maple syrup. The next step is to ‘inoculate’ the molasses with a yeast culture. The fermented molasses is then distilled 4 times in column stills then charcoal filtered to produce a premium quality, extremely pure and crystal clear HUDSON’S CANE which has an incomparable smoothness.
Tasting Notes
A clean fresh taste, aged for a limited time, with a sweet extra smooth accent. Traditional methods are used to balance the character of the spirit to give a long velvet finish.
